The fun and importance of travel is something my parents instilled in me. They never missed an opportunity to take us places and experience what is out there. Many trips to Colorado, Washington DC, Florida, California, Arizona, Nevada and South Dakota. All of those trips still hold special memories for me from my youth.
Since Chad and I have been together, we have had the opportunity to travel together to many of those places and a few new ones also. And with Anna we also have not passed up many opportunities to take her places. We added New York City to our list and has been a favorite destination so far. But also since Anna and since getting our camper, we have explored some great places closer to home in our great state of MN.
So, where do I want to go? There are some new places and some old that we want our children to see also. These are in no particular order....
- Mammoth Cave National Park/Great Smoky Mountains/Nashville/Memphis/St. Louis
View Larger Map - East Coast including Philidelphia, Boston, Maine, Acadia National Park and back through Canada.
View Larger Map - Yosemite National Park
- Washington DC once Anna is a bit older and can appreciate it more.
- Washington State including, Seattle, Olympic National Park and Mt Rainer National Park
- Oregon including Portland, surrounding areas and Crater Lake National Park
- San Fran and surrounding areas
- Sante Fe
- Texas including San Antonio
- Arizona including Grand Canyon
- North Carolina/South Carolina Coasts
- Back to NYC!
- Florida including the Everglades, Key West and Disney World
- Alaska!
- Hawaii!
- New Orleans
- National Park Tour including Glacier, Yellowstone, Arches and anything along the way!

I am sure this list is not complete! Where else should we go?

Ahhh... something I also dream about often!! (We might be taking that eastern loop trip this summer! Jake has a conference in either Boston or Philly!)
I also dream of a Grand Canyon trip with the kids, complete with an archaelogical "dig."
When you do the Nat'l park trip- Def. head to Grand Teton Nat'l park and Jackson, Wy. A favorite we've gotten to many times thanks to family that live there.
We went to Disney on our honeymoon in 1996...we're headed back next month to celebrate our oldest child's 10th birthday. I can't wait to see their faces when we get there!
I'm so glad to see how much you loved NYC. I grew up in North Dakota, but became a New Yorker 17 years ago. It is my absolute favorite place on earth.
Something I think of too! We're actually going to Mammoth Cave/Nashville/St. Louis this summer, as Anju's adoption reunion will be in Cincinnati. We're also planning on checking out the Effigy Mounds in N. Iowa on the way to OH.
Places I/we've really enjoyed that weren't on your list include: Wisconsin Dells, British Columbia (I went to Vernon, but Vancouver would be awesome!), Upper Peninsula in Michigan, Duluth/North Shore & Teddy Roosevelt Nat'l Park.
Keep dreaming!
