Back in Time...

Ever wonder what it was like when the dinosaurs roamed the earth? It is one thing to see skeletons of these massive creatures but to see them in their habitat moving and making sounds like you can really imagine them making is something completely different.

Chad and I took Anna to the traveling show, Walking with Dinosaurs, at the Xcel Center last week. We weren't really sure what to expect but had read enough reviewers that thought it was a great show. And we were not disappointed.

The show was narrated by a paleontologist who walked us through the different periods during which the dinosaurs lived. Then they would come out for behind the curtain. It really is remarkable what they can do these days. I guess I would compare it to some of the animatronics that are done by Disney for their theme parks.

I think the cool part about the show too was that you just weren't looking at dinosaurs walking around the arena; it was more of a history lesson about dinosaurs and what the earth may have looked like during that time. We also learned about how the dinosaurs evolved over time to adapt to their surroundings. The star of the show at least in Anna's eyes was definitely the baby T-Rex! Too cute.

I would give the show 4 out of 4 stars. It was pretty neat to see and was great for kids as little as 4 years old like Anna. She enjoyed it but I have heard that younger children may be scared by the dinosaurs. Unfortunately, it was only in the TC for 5 days last week but if you get the chance to see it in a different city I would recommend it.
