So you may be wondering what it is exactly you are looking at here. First off you will see two bright white spots that are marked by the 3 lines and word stitch. Those are stitches of the cerclage. Honestly all I can tell is that they are there. But apparently they are there and holding strong.
Next you will see two + signs. The distance between those two is the distance of my cervix - the part that is still closed. Here it is 1.35 cm. To the left of the left + sign is where the funneling is and the open part of the cervix. Our baby girl's head is not to far from this opening but off the picture. Apparently she is sitting really low - which I could have told them since there are times I feel like she is trying to punch her way out of there. Seriously little one, you need to stay in there. No coming out anytime soon.
Hope you enjoyed your medical lesson of the day. Good news is that my closed cervical length stayed about the same or a little improved from last week so we were thankfully sent back home to strict bed rest here instead of up to the 3rd floor for hospital bed rest. We will check again next week and as long as it stays stable I stay home.
And now the fun part. We had a growth check ultrasound today also which showed our baby girl is about 2 lbs 5 oz and measuring right on to what she should be at this stage of 26 weeks 2 days. The ultrasound tech turned on the 3D ultrasound to get some pictures and can't believe how amazing it is to see her in that dimension. She actually looks like a baby and not an alien. We did learn though that you can't scan in 3D images or at least our scanner made it look more like an alien again? So, I took a picture of a picture to put it on here.
Isn't she cute? And comfortable? See how she has her arm resting on her knee? Just make yourself at home in there little one. You still have MANY weeks before it is time to meet you!

Glad your cervix is looking good. And baby is adorable. Usually those 3D pictures freak me out, but this one is so cute. Again glad to hear you are at home on bed rest instead of the hospital.
