If you haven't, I say that you must. Seriously such a great show. The music, the humor, the love story, the Wizard of Oz prequel.
My love of musicals go way back. My parents would take us to the Chanhassen Dinner Theater every year while I was growing up. I watched Grease over and over and over again. Grease is the word. Not to mention how many times I watched the Sound of Music.
This show though, Wicked, brings the love to a new level. It is that good.
We went tonight with our friends, Joe and Sarah. A few weeks back Chad went after work and scored Anna and I lottery tickets to see it too. Yes, I have shared my love of musicals with Anna (and Chad!). Besides watching High School Musical 1, 2 and 3 on DVD (hey don't judge, it has good music!) Anna has been to Wicked, Mary Poppins, Beauty and the Beast, and Legally Blonde on the stage. I would say she is a fan. So enjoy the wonder of live performances!
Next up, excited to hopefully take her to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in December. And then next on the list for me is Billy Elliot this winter. Is there such a thing as a bad musical? I have yet to see one!
What is your favorite musical?

I saw Joseph at the Ordway when it came to town with Donny Osmond in 1992! I was 8 and LOVED it! I then promptly sang "Close Every Door to Me" at my school's talent show, ha! I've also seen Beauty & The Beast, The Lion King, The Producers, but my favorites are RENT, Wicked & The Phantom of the Opera. I am so very jealous you've seen Wicked FOUR times! That's so fun :)
I'm so excited to take my own daughter to musicals someday!
Oh, have you seen any on Broadway? I saw the Producers and Phantom in NYC, which totally brings the musical experience to a new level.
I am such a musical freak. If I had more money to spend I'd go to a show every year. I want to see Les Miserables, Grease, Mamma Mia...I've missed out on a bunch of fun ones the last few years. Ah well. All in good time.
Modern musical fave is Beauty & the Beast.....classic fave is Annie.
I think my all-time favorite is Miss Saigon. I've only seen it once, but loved it. Might also have be part of why Madame Butterfly is one of my favorite operas.
Another favorite is Rent, which I can't believe you haven't seen! I also think there is something about the first time seeing a show being the best (in terms of performances). Rent was like that for us.
Without even a second thought...no doubt in my mind...it's the Phantom of the Opera. I've seen it six times now and I listen to the cd in my car periodically. I love love LOVE that show!! After that, second place is Miss Saigon. Jen Edwards
I am a musical lover myself. I've seen many all over the country and even in London! Last year for my birthday Ross surprised me with tickets to Mary Poppins - favorite birthday ever - I smiled the whole time. PLUS we collect musicals on DVD. :) Sound of Music is my all-time favorite musical movie. Wicked is probably up there as my favorite 'live' musical - seen it 2 times - both in Chicago. :)
I love musicals! I saw Wicked a few years ago and really enjoyed it (I'm a Wizard of Oz fan, but strangely not a big fan of the book, Wicked). My fave, though, hands-down is Les Miz!
i loved the book Wicked! loved it! i wish i could have gone to see it but maybe next year.
i grew up going to Chanhassen Dinner Theater every year too! i loved it! and, i admit that i watch the Highschool Musicals and love them! oh, and Zac Efron is pretty cute to watch too!
Love Love LOVE musicals. Wicked is my current favorite but I love Rent, Les Mis, Miss Saigon, Beauty and the Beast, and just about all of them! :)
