Through (Pink Eye Shadowed) Eyes of a Child

I like Halloween. It has been a long time since I have loved it tough. Growing up of course every child loves it. I have vivid memories of many of my costumes. I have vivid memories of going to the roller rink all in costume. I remember walking as far down River Street as my feet would carry me and then realizing I had to get back. I remember very vividly the Halloween Blizzard of 1991. I remember going trick or treating and then heading to the high school dance. I was lucky I was a city kid or we would never had made it!

But those Halloween memories are from high school or before. A long time ago. Through college and our early married life, I enjoyed passing out candy but that was the extent of our Halloween fun. And then we had a child. Even that first year our friends the Vosbergs had to buy her a costume because we weren't going to dress her up and for sure wasn't planning on taking her out.

Each year though the excitement of Halloween got more and more! And this year I think I was back to remembering those nostalgic feelings of Halloween's past!

The excitement of carving the pumpkins!

The excitement of getting all dressed up in a costume that we spent many hours deciding on!

The excitement of getting together with friends to celebrate!

The excitement of ringing doorbells and saying Trick or Treat!

The excitement of fun decorated houses that go all out!

The excitement of getting a Slippery Witch mini-shot! An adult treat! (Ok, that is a new one that I don't remember as a child but thought it was a good addition this year!!)

The excitement of dumping out the loot and checking it all out!

We had a great time again this year! What fun it is to live through the eyes of a child - even if that child is wearing entirely too much pink eye shadow!

HA! That is right about Anna's first Halloween, I remember that! :)

Sorry for rolling my eyes at the princess and pink eye shadow, it makes my heart beat extremely fast to think about that stuff. But every robot needs a princess, right?

Looks like it was so much fun :) It's hard to get back into the spirit of Halloween - but done right it can be a blast!
